Klaten is a regency in Central Java province located approximately 27 km from Yogyakarta city. It is comprise of 26 districts, 391 villages and 10 administrative village with population around 1,148,994 people on 2013.It is mostly in low elevation area which is potential for agriculture and supporting food for people in Central Java. Some area in the feet of Mount Merapi has source of chalk andesite stone.

Some carpenters in Klaten Regency make both indoor and outdoor furnitures using Acaciawood. It is consider high valuable wood due to it moisture resistance, hardness, and durability nearly similar to teak.

Klaten Regency has varies of tourism attraction including traditional Arts and traditional ceremonies.The tourist objects of Klaten regency is in the south of Central Java tourist objects and also laid between two cradles of culture Surakarta and Yogyakarta. Beautiful places are interested to be visited such as Prambanan temple, Ponggok Water Park, Ki AgengPandanaran Graveyard and Deles Indah Park.

Prambanan temple built in the 10th century, this is the largest temple compound dedicated to Shiva in Indonesia.  Rising above the center of the last of these concentric squares are three temples decorated with the reliefs illustrating the epic of the Ramayana, dedicated to the three great divinities (Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma). Prambanan temple itself is a complex consisting of 240 temples. All the mentioned temples form the Prambanan Archaecological Park and were built during the heyday of Syailendra’s powerful dynasty in Java in the 8th century AD.
