Purworejo is regency in the southern part of Central Java province in Indonesia. Its capital is Purworejo. The southern region of Purworejo district is lowland. The northern part is a mountainous region part of the Serayu Mountains. Purworejo is on the main route across the southern island of Java. The county is also crossed by the railway line, with the biggest stations in Kutoarjo.
